REPTILE DISPLAY
TERMS & CONDITIONS

Animals available on display

Slithers & Slides specializes in educational displays featuring live reptiles. While we strive to offer a variety of species, the availability of specific animals may vary. Slithers & Slides reserves the right to select the animals on display and may withdraw any animal from an ongoing display if deemed necessary by staff.

Safe interaction with animals

All animals used for display are chosen for their temperament and are conditioned for public handling. However, Slithers & Slides disclaims all responsibility for any incidents resulting from participants failing to follow staff instructions during handling.

Supervision of children

Parents or guardians are required to supervise children at all times around the display. Slithers & Slides accepts no liability for unsupervised children in the vicinity of the display.

Animal welfare

Slithers & Slides staff may interrupt the display and withdraw animals if an animal welfare concern arises. If it is not possible to ensure the safety of the animals, the display will be stopped, and no refund will be provided. Clients should note that high temperatures can adversely affect the heath of reptiles and should consider using indoor, air-conditioned venues to minimize heat-related issues.

Animals available for handling

Demonstrators will handle only one animal at a time to ensure its safety. This limit may be temporarily increased at the sole discretion of Slithers & Slides staff if necessary.

Access to display

Slithers & Slides provides entertainment to the general public. However, to ensure safety, we may deny access or remove visitors the designated display area who are disruptive, reckless, or not following staff directions or signage. Such decisions are made at the sole discretion of Slithers & Slides.

Interruption of display

If public behaviour compromises the safety of the animals or disrupts the display, Slithers & Slides reserves the right to interrupt the display until the situation is resolved. If the safety of the animals cannot be ensured, the display will be stopped, and no refund will be provided.

Equipment to be supplied

For ‘large display’ bookings, the client/event organiser is required to provide minimum of four (4) trestle tables. For outdoor displays, the client/event organiser is required to provide a gazebo to cover the display area; Large reptile displays require a 6m x 6m gazebo, medium displays require a 3m x 3m gazebo, and small displays require a 2m x 2m gazebo. Air-conditioning may be required to be provided by the client/event organiser to prevent animals overheating. Should air-conditioning be required, it will be included in the job details of a quote provided by Slithers & Slides.

Power to site

Power is required only for large displays to operate a television showing snake avoidance training for dogs. The event organizer must inform Slithers & Slides prior to the event if power cannot be supplied. Lack of power will not affect the remainder of the display.

Damage to display enclosures

The event organizer is responsible for their patrons’ conduct. In the event of damage to display enclosures caused by the public, the event organizer will be required to cover the replacement cost, up to a maximum of $500 per enclosure.

Parking

Any parking fees incurred will be charged to the client. Parking for our vehicles (up to 2) must be within 50 meters of the setup area, whether assigned or in a paid parking area.

Client requested forms and inductions

Any forms or inductions required by the client will be charged at $100 per hour.

Supplier/Vendor Forms

For organizations requiring a Supplier/Vendor form, a $10.00 fee per form will be added to the invoice upon return of the completed form.

Cancellations

This cancellation policy applies once a booking form is submitted. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the display start time will incur the full cost quoted for the display, including travel, setup, and other expenses. Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will incur charges for preparation costs only (e.g., flights, accommodation). If a display is rescheduled and then cancelled, the full cost of the display will be charged, regardless of the remaining time before the scheduled display.

Payment

Payment is due within 30 days of receiving the invoice (for birthday displays, payment is required on the day). Accepted payment methods include cash, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), or debit/credit card. Card payments are subject to an additional 2.25% processing fee.
